Aveyron would seem to have been created for physical exercise. The
water, the air, the rocks take a wide variety of forms, to the joy
of those who enjoy intense sensations. Just choose your activity.
 To
strong sensations should be added the emotions of the land, the
sky and the water. Each forest, each village, each footpath becomes
a natural adventure, revealing the rich heritage of the Aveyron,
such as the Templar and Hospitaller fortified villages, right in
the heart of the Parc Régional Naturel des Grands Causses or the
calm of the in-land seas the great lakes of Lévézou.
 Micropolis
As an extension of the work of the entomologist Jean-Henri Fabre
and the success of the award-winning film "Microcosmos"
(winner of 5 César awards, shot exclusively in Aveyron),
the département wanted to create a lasting memorial to this
great scientist: "Micropolis", the Insect World.
Based in Saint-Léons, birthplace of the entomologist, Micropolis
is a unique experience where, thanks to the exceptional scenography,
man is transformed to the size of an insect and plunges into the
world of insects, both an informative and an emotional experience.
Half way between a museum and a theme park, you'll discover 13 exhibition
galleries, each with its own theme and interactive exhibits. Astonishing
and mysterious, a transposition between two radically different
worlds. Micropolis leads you into to minute world of insects. Both
fun and educational, the exhibition is a great day out for all the
family.
